Music
The sanctuary choir is a small ensemble that is always looking for new members. We perform every other Sunday, as well as on special occasions. Membership is open to anyone who loves to sing and wants to share their talent in a group format. Instrumental, vocal solos, and ensembles are used for the remaining Sundays.
The choir performs an eclectic style of music in three- and four-part harmony, with rehearsals every Wednesday evening from late August until the end of May. Solos and ensembles fill out the summer schedule. Those interested in performing may contact the choir director for open dates. During Advent the choir performs each Sunday, culminating with the Christmas Cantata.
The Fifth Sunday Gospel Sing is a new program that will be an evening of hymn singing; allowing members of the congregation the opportunity to pick some of their favorites. A song leader will lead each service, which will include special performances, as well as group singing. Friendship time will be held from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall with refreshments available. The singing will follow in the sanctuary. Everyone is encouraged, along with family and friends, to share the songs and even perform a solo if desired.
