Prayer Shawl Ministry

Cassidy UMC began its prayer shawl ministry on January 30, 2009. Shawls are prayerfully crocheted, knitted, or sewn by members of our church and the community with the specific intent of providing comfort to the wearer. Upon completion each shawl is specifically prayed over by the Cassidy prayer team, further imparting God’s blessings and comfort to the shawl.

Shawls are presented to those during times of loss of a loved one or other bereavement; to those in the hospital or undergoing medical procedures; to those who are in need of special comfort; and for celebrations such as marriages, the birth of a baby, etc. The possibilities are endless!
